Traffic offender’s bid to hoodwink cops foiled

Hazratganj crossing near GPO witnessed high drama on Wednesday when two four-wheelers were stopped during a checking drive. The first offender caught posed as secretary of Vidhan Sabha, Kanpur rural and dropped names to threaten the traffic cops. The owner of the car Aniruddh Singh Sengar was driving around with tinted glasses, and hooter mounted on the car.

LUCKNOW: Hazratganj crossing near GPO witnessed high drama on Wednesday when two four-wheelers were stopped during a checking drive. The first offender caught posed as secretary of Vidhan Sabha, Kanpur rural and dropped names to threaten the traffic cops. He was taken aback when media reached the spot and clicked photographs of his car. The man made several attempts to convince the traffic officials and apologised several times to be let off, but they remain adamant and fined him heavily for the traffic offences. The offender also failed to produce a valid driving licence and other vehicle documents.
Another offender was caught driving a car with logo of a political party on a fancy number plate and tinted glasses. When policemen began to peel the black film off the car doors and windows, the offender started shouting at them. When press photographers turned towards him he sat inside the car. The cops, however, went on and peeled off the black film and challaned him.
